How the sales / credit account is determined on an AR Invoice

The sales/credit account on an invoice can be determined from various location in PLEX, based on the AR Invoice type (Manual, Shipment...), as well as based on your current setup affecting those areas from where the sales/credit account will be picked by the system upon generating an invoice

Steps for Priority Order:

  1. Account Revenue Matrix: Use only if this functionality is configured.
  2. Price Breakdown: Check the link within the "Price" section of the order line in the customer purchase order.
  3. Part Group Setup: Verify the "AR_Account_No" column and ensure "Get Revenue Account From Part Group" setting is enabled.
  4. Customer PO Type: Confirm the "Revenue_Account_No" column and "Get Revenue Account From PO Type" setting in the setup table.
  5. Standard Account Type: Use the "Shipped" account set in the Standard Accounts Maintenance screen.
  6. Last AR Invoice (Manual Invoices): Use the revenue account from the last manual/auto-generated AR invoice for manual invoices. Note this won't work for shipment invoices.
  7. First Revenue Account: Look at the first revenue account in the chart of accounts. Test this by modifying the type of the first listed revenue account.

Once the account origin is identified, the above steps can be used for mapping and setting up how sales accounts are pulled into AR Invoices.
