Supplier portals are used to collaborate with suppliers across the lifecycle of the relationship between the supplier and the Plex subscriber. Companies may want suppliers to respond to RFQs, to review releases, to perform quality-related tasks, etc.

In Plex UX, there is a specific Supplier Portal menu. It contains all the screens that have been deemed ready for supplier access. This is in contrast with Classic, where Plex subscribers could add any screens to a supplier menu. This prevents exposing screens that are not intended for use by a supplier and prevents suppliers from seeing other suppliers' data.

Steps to leverage the supplier portal:

  1. Decide which screens in the Supplier Portal menu will be available to suppliers. Create a supplier record if needed.
  2. Create supplier roles for these screens.
  3. Create the supplier users and assign them roles.
  4. Prepare and provide training to suppliers.
